Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” implies there are at least two pieces of iron and neither of the pieces can become sharper without the presence of the other. Without two pieces of iron, both blades would be dull and useless. This scripture tells us that we are expected to live and serve in a community and to build loving and growing relationships with others. We all need people that can rub off our hard edges and can sharpen us to all become better people. Utilizing the principle of iron sharpens iron shows us the need for accountability, motivation and, willingness which is something that Resurrection Power instills into our residents.
Our mission over the past 20 years has been to carry God’s love for those struggling with addiction, primarily through the operation of our four Recovery Houses. We hope to increase the number of Recovery Houses we operate, but also to go beyond just the recovery house strategy. In a new initiative, we are working in cooperation with Harmony House Café and the Harmony Life Recovery Center located at the New Hope City Center. Our goal is to increase our footprint in Washington and allow those in the recovery community to have greater access to recovery assets in one central location.
We want to be the iron that sharpens iron by connecting and establishing genuine healing and mentoring relationships directly with those in addiction and active recovery.
Our administrative offices are now located into the New Hope City Center. Ashlee, our Certified Recovery Specialist along with Rev. Hedges will be present and available to connect and support those who gather at the New Hope City Center through deeper conversations, mentoring, spiritual development and, small groups.
